Good ... for a while.
Enjoyed this camera for a year--the lag time was frustrating but I really did like everything else. Focus and color seemed good. Product design was fairly intuitive and the camera felt sturdy.
Then, four days into a Europe trip (and 53 weeks after I purchased it) I experienced the same problem it seems like everyone else giving it a low rating did ... the lens refuses to retract and it's just dead in the water.
I very much doubt that my replacement camera will be a Nikon. The Canon this one replaced lasted much longer.

The camera arrived on a timely basis in excellant condition. It takes good pictures and performs as stated on Amazon.
Nikon Refuses to honor warranty
I purchased the Nikon Coolpix P60 less than eight months ago. The camera was decent, but had its faults (such as a very dim LED invisible in daylight). Then the lens refused to retract. So I jumped through the hoops and sent them the camera into Nikon warranty repair.
Imagine my surprise when I got an email from Canon saying that the lens mechanism is NOT covered by the warranty, and an invoice was attached for 7. This was close to what I originally paid for the camera.
So I need to buy a new digital camera... and it sure as hell won't be a Nikon.

Great camera ... wide range of settings ; quick and easy auto mode ; 5x optical ; electronic viewfinder ; lots of features. It uses AA batteries which is what I like for traveling ... picture quality has been excellent.
Great Camera!
Great camera...to me flash time is not too much of an issue. I was using an older digital camera and it takes about the same time. The good news is that it doesn't let you take the picture without the flash fully charged. So when the picture is dark, you don't have to take it again. Battery life is not an issue either. My other camera takes 4 AA batteries. It can take twice the amount than this camera. Hence, it is the same yield...so carry a couple of spares in your case. The only complaint is that when you are using the view finder and you take a picture, the review is played back in the view finder and not on the main screen. I don't like taking pictures on the larger lcd, but would like it to play the reviews on it. All in all, a super camera for the price.
